So, you want to know how to lose weight in a week? Of course you do, who doesn’t want to lose weight fast.

Now, I’m not really one to sell you on fast weight loss. Most weight loss programs and diets promising instant results are scams.

However, I also understand that sometimes we need the initial boost of motivation to get us started on the long haul weight loss journey. That motivation can be something as simple as seeing the scale go down a pound or two.

It is possible to lose weight in a week, but only if you are vigilant about doing these key things. Read below to learn how to lose weight in a week and why you should start right now.

  1. 1. Stop Eating After 6 PM
  2. 2. Walk Everyday
  3. 3. Eat Protein at Every Meal
  4. How To Lose Weight in a Week: The Takeaway

1. Stop Eating After 6 PM

Eat your dinner early and make a rule to stop eating after 5 or 6 PM. Not eating after a certain time will do two things: for one, you won’t engage in mindless late night snacking and secondly, you’ll extend your fast before eating the following morning.

Late night snacking can add up to hundreds of extra calories. Calories that turn to fat and go directly to your waistline. This goes for liquid calories too. Your nightly glass (or two) of wine might not seem like it’s doing much harm, but you’d be surprised how much those liquid calories add up.

Also, not eating after 6 PM puts you in a longer fasted state. There is some evidence that being in a fasted state for longer helps lower blood sugar and may promote faster weight loss. Intermittent fasting could be a useful tool for how to lose weight in a week. But more on that later.

2. Walk Everyday

Walking is an excellent form of exercise and the only exercise I did at first to lose 100 pounds in one year. If you’re serious about how to lose weight in a week, get to stepping.

Walking helps burn a ton of calories without being too hard on your body. It can help relieve stress and most importantly, it keeps your mind off eating.

Lose weight in a week by going for a walk every single day for at least 30 minutes. That’s right, every single day. Not just every other day or only on the weekend, every single day.

Just remember to walk like you mean it. Stopping to sniff and smell the flowers every few minutes isn’t gonna cut it. Make sure you are walking at a brisk pace, fast enough to get your heart pumping and sweat trickling.

3. Eat Protein at Every Meal

Protein is essential for building muscle and is key to staying satisfied and reducing food cravings. I couldn’t tell you how to lose weight in a week without telling you to not eat more protein.

Eat protein for every one of your meals and snacks. Good examples of lean proteins include grilled chicken, eggs, Greek yogurt, deli turkey slices, and fish.

Make protein a staple in your meals and I guarantee you will both feel better and look better in a week.

If you’re serious about learning how to lose weight in a week, follow the above guidance exactly as written. Seriously. Try it out for one week and see what happens.

Ultimately, weight loss comes down to creating a calorie deficit. Eating less at night, walking everyday, and eating more protein will help you stay in a calorie deficit.

Use this week as an experiment to test your discipline and see what’s really possible when you put your mind and energy into sticking to a goal. Remember, it’s only one week, you can do this.
