Weight loss isn’t easy. It takes time, discipline, and most importantly, consistency.
But that doesn’t mean it’s all bad. Losing weight can be fun once you get into the swing of things.
One day you’ll wake up and look forward to your morning workout. You’ll crave that healthy chicken salad you prepped for dinner instead of greasy take-out.
But if you’re not there yet, a little boost might help. Below are some of my top fitness products that make weight loss (and weight maintenance) easier.
Consider adding these to your arsenal of weight loss hacks to keep you motivated and consistent.
1. 21 Day Fix Meal Portion Control Containers

Those of you who follow me on Youtube have heard me talk about these containers before. That’s because I LOVE them.
The container system diet is from BeachBody trainer Autumn Calabrese and her 21-Day Fix fitness program. It’s a diet system that helps you keep track of your portions for each food group (protein, carbs, fruit, etc.) using different sized containers (eg. 1 cup, 3/4 cup, 1/2 cup, etc.).
I love using this program because it does the calorie and macro tracking for me. All I have to do is fill up my containers and keep track of how many containers I eat throughout the day.
(Check out my Youtube video here to learn how I lost 20 lbs using this container system)
If you are new to portion control/calorie counting, this diet system can help you stay on track without worrying about counting every single calorie.
2. Food Scale

Losing fat means being in a consistent calorie deficit. That’s difficult to do unless you are precise with your calorie tracking.
I’ve found that a food scale helps me measure and track my calories more accurately. Especially for foods that vary in size (ex. fruits, potatoes, cuts of meat, etc.).
I got my food scale on Amazon for super cheap and use it consistently when I am trying to trim down. It’s really been a game changer in keeping my calorie count accurate.
3. Dumbbells

I do most of my workouts from home because I find it more convenient. In my opinion, you need minimal equipment to get a good workout.
My main at home gym equipment consists of dumbbells ranging from 10-20lbs. Dumbbells are versatile equipment that you can use to work every part of your body from your glutes to your abs.
Having a set of dumbbells at home has changed the game in my fitness. I find I am more consistent with my workouts when I have equipment readily available to me.
The best part is that they take up little space in your home (I keep mine on my lanai). Plus, you don’t need very much room to use them.
4. Electrolyte Powder

The top rule of weight loss is not to drink your calories. But if I’m honest, water gets boring after a while.
I’ve found that when I have something flavorful to sip on, it reduces my cravings for beverages like sodas or cocktails. Flavored electrolyte water is my go-to for when I want something other than water.
Liquid IV and Emergen-C electrolyte powders are my two favorite. They are both tasty and provide plenty of hydration and vitamins and minerals.
Both Liquid IV and Emergen-C are low in calories and the perfect post-workout refreshment.
5. Wrist/ Ankle Weights

I purchased a pair of these wrist/ ankle weights a few months ago. They only add a little resistance to my workouts. But I figure every bit helps burn more calories.
I wear them mainly when walking or doing glute exercises. But they are versatile enough to use for any kind of workout.
I can’t say I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my body after using them. But I find them fun to use, which motivates me to use them and be more active.
