If you had told 14-year-old me that one day I would lose 100 pounds, become a model, appear in magazines, and even be invited onto Oprah, I never would have believed you.
At the time, I weighed over 230 pounds.
I had spent my entire childhood overweight. I was bullied, embarrassed by my body, and convinced that I was simply “the fat girl.” I couldn’t imagine a future where I felt confident in my own skin, let alone one where someone would actually ask me to model.
But one year changed everything.
This is the story of how I lost 100 pounds naturally, the lessons that made it possible, and why I believe almost anyone can transform their life the same way.
My Life Before Losing 100 Pounds
Growing up overweight affected nearly every part of my life.
It wasn’t just about clothing sizes or numbers on a scale. It affected my confidence, my friendships, and how I viewed myself. I remember wishing I could simply wake up in someone else’s body.
Like many people struggling with obesity, I believed I was different.
Maybe I just had bad genetics.
Maybe I wasn’t meant to be thin.
Maybe everyone else had something that I didn’t.
Looking back, I realize those thoughts kept me stuck far longer than my weight ever did.
The Mindset Shift That Changed Everything
The biggest change wasn’t a new diet.
It wasn’t joining a gym.
It wasn’t discovering some secret workout.
It was realizing that my body wasn’t fixed—it was a reflection of my habits.
That idea completely changed my life.
If my daily habits had slowly led me to become obese, then new daily habits could slowly lead me somewhere else.
For the first time, I understood that I wasn’t powerless.
That realization gave me something I hadn’t felt in a very long time:
Hope.
How I Lost 100 Pounds Naturally
People always want to know exactly what I did.
They’re usually expecting some complicated diet plan or hidden trick.
The truth is surprisingly simple.
I ate fewer calories.
I moved more.
And I did it consistently for an entire year.
There wasn’t a magical food.
There wasn’t a detox.
There wasn’t a weight-loss tea.
There wasn’t Ozempic.
There wasn’t a cheat code.
There was simply the decision to show up every day—even when I didn’t feel like it.
Some days were easier than others.
Some days I wanted to quit.
But I kept going because I finally believed my future could be different from my past.
The First 10 Pounds Were the Most Important
Ironically, losing the first 10 pounds mattered more than losing the last 90.
Not because it changed my body very much.
Because it changed my mind.
For the first time, I had proof that what I was doing was working.
Before then, weight loss had always felt impossible.
After those first few pounds, it became inevitable.
Every small victory built confidence.
Confidence created consistency.
Consistency created results.
One decision turned into another.
One pound became five.
Five became twenty.
Eventually, those small daily choices added up to 100 pounds.
Why Consistency Beats Motivation Every Time
One of the biggest misconceptions about weight loss is that successful people are simply more motivated.
I don’t believe that’s true.
Motivation comes and goes.
Some mornings I wanted to keep going.
Other mornings I absolutely didn’t.
The difference wasn’t motivation.
It was commitment.
The days that changed my life weren’t the days I felt inspired.
They were the ordinary Tuesdays when I made the healthier choice anyway.
Real transformation isn’t built during your best days.
It’s built during your average ones.
How Losing Weight Changed My Life
Losing 100 pounds obviously changed how I looked.
But it changed much more than that.
It completely changed what I believed was possible for my life.
Eventually, opportunities started appearing that I never could have imagined.
I began modeling.
I appeared in Seventeen magazine.
I was invited onto The Oprah Show.
Those experiences were incredible, but they weren’t the real victory.
The real victory was becoming someone who finally trusted herself.
Someone who kept promises to herself.
Someone who understood that discipline creates freedom.
Ironically, becoming a model wasn’t the goal.
It was simply one of the unexpected doors that opened because I had first transformed my habits.
The Biggest Lesson I Learned From Losing 100 Pounds
People often ask me what the biggest lesson was.
It wasn’t learning how to count calories.
It wasn’t learning how to exercise.
It was learning that our lives are largely built by the things we do repeatedly.
Our habits become our identity.
If you consistently make choices that support your goals, your life eventually starts reflecting those choices.
Not overnight.
Not in a month.
But eventually.
And that’s incredibly empowering because habits can be changed.
No matter where you’re starting today, you can begin making different choices tomorrow.
If You’re Trying to Lose Weight Right Now…
Maybe you’re where I was.
Maybe you’ve convinced yourself you’ll always struggle.
Maybe you’ve started and stopped dozens of diets.
Maybe you’ve lost hope.
I understand.
I’ve been there.
But if there’s one thing I hope my story proves, it’s this:
You do not have to stay the person you are today.
Your current body is not your permanent identity.
Your past does not determine your future.
Start with one better choice.
Then another.
And another.
You don’t need perfection.
You need consistency.
Eventually, those small decisions compound into results that once felt impossible.

Final Thoughts
People often think my story is about becoming a model.
It’s not.
It’s about discovering that your life can change dramatically when your habits change.
The modeling happened because I lost the weight.
The weight loss happened because I changed my habits.
And the habits changed because I finally believed that my future could be different from my past.
If I could leave you with one message, it’s this:
You don’t have to become a different person before you start changing your life.
You become that person by taking the next small step.
One day at a time.
